The Sugar House Farmers Market is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization organized and run by an Executive Director, Market Manager, Interns, and Volunteers. The market’s mission is “To create a family-friendly and educational local market, by providing fresh produce, delicious food and unique Utah products.  We strive to support the Sugar House community and come together through food and fun."  

The SHFM Board of Directors is responsible for the overall success of the organization by acting in accordance with our mission and values, and by supporting our staff, vendors, and community.

As a community builder at heart, and an advocate of supporting local, Amy feels right at home at the Sugar House Farmers Market.  She loves working with different outreach groups volunteering her time supporting a variety of organizations, which include music, dance, food and film. She can also play a mean piano.



Upon creating Compás Productions in 2003, Melo has held positions and co-created, film, video, and assisted live broadcast television and still photo projects, as a location scout, manager and field producer. As a producer he has been involved with a wide spectrum of media outlets in the greater Salt Lake area for over twenty years. Melo has truly enjoyed roles as a documentarian versed for both English and Spanish productions. His field producer background includes projects as a field producer and co-producer with Ghost Rider Pictures located in New Orleans, LA, CNN and Fox Business Report, ENG field work for American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, for the FOX network.

Presently, Melo resides in the Sugar House area. He is at home in the outdoors and enjoys road trip travels!



A resident of Sugar House for eight years, Brad Di Iorio moved to Utah for the outdoor life, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and hiking and camping in the summer. Working for Q Salt Lake for his first three years in the building next to Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta, Brad wondered why 'Sugar Hole' even existed at the corner of Highland and 2100 S., so he got involved in the local SH Business Alliance morning meetings being held at Fiddler's Elbow, eventually becoming the new Sugar House Chamber of Commerce's Marketing Manager in its first year.  Brad later joined the Chamber as a board member, but also co-founded the Utah Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, started Elevation, Utah's ongoing gay & lesbian ski week at PCMR every February, and played flag football in SH Park with the Mountain West Flag Football league for three years. Brad has always been involved with community and when the SH Farmer's Market got started on the quick turn right on 2100 S., Brad helped promote & market the SHFM to Utah's LGBTQ community with Q Salt Lake. Brad currently writes a monthly business article in the Sugar House Community Council's newsletter and looks forward in bringing the market to Fairmont Park.



Studying environmental education in college, Natalie quickly grew to realize the importance and benefits of eating local. Shortly after moving to Utah from her home state of Michigan, Natalie learned about the opportunity to work with the Sugar House Farmers Market. She immediately jumped at the chance to share her passion with the community she had quickly grown to love. Natalie started with the Sugar House Farmers Market in 2015 as the Assistant Market Manager and Kids Activity Coordinator. In 2016 she took the role of Market Manager, working closely with the board of directors to help implement the exciting changes in hopes for the market to better serve the community. She received a BS in Zoology from Michigan State University in 2014 and is currently working towards a MA in Biology through Miami University’s Global Field Program, focusing on inquiry, environmental education, and sustainability. Natalie also works as the Education Assistant at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, as well as teaching yoga and pilates. Outside of work and school, Natalie enjoys taking her dog on hikes, trail running, yoga, traveling, cooking and trying the many new experiences that Utah has to offer!



Amy volunteers as a board member for the Sugar House Farmer’s Market where she lends her talents and experience in the public relations arena to help out with brand recognition and media relations.  Amy feels at home in the outdoors where she enjoys hiking, skiing or simply taking a stroll through the beautiful parks in Sugar House.
